We Miss Lauryn

ImageA great female vocalist—Lauryn Hill.

I remember Lauryn Hill when she graced the scene

with The Fugees. (I was only a school girl living “carefree”)

When she became a solo act

this was a plus for her.

She captured music charts with her tracks:

  • The Doo Wop (That Thing)
  • Ex Factor (My favorite)
  • Everything Is Everything Remix

Seems as if

Lauryn fell off the music scene

once she became a mommy.

Some say

she chose to go underground.

Check out the link below

to read why Lauryn says

she disappeared:

Hated to see Lauryn sentenced.

But glad to see she’s out of prison.

Remembering GOOD music

and GREAT artists.

Why She Said No

If I conduct a survey

with 100

umarried females,

it is predicted that

80% of them

dream of walking down the aisle one day

and say “I do”.

So why would a female decline

a marriage proposal?

Note: Due to the most common

           answer being “infidelity”,

           I will omit this reason

           and present others.

Over the next few weeks,

I will provide you with answers

to this question.

WEEK #1 “He wasn’t ready

If there’s a detection of a lack of maturity

lack of responsibility,

Discuss it

with your significant other.

See if things will change.

Marriage is a major committment.

It will be one the most important

decisions and investment

you make in life.

When it’s done,

it should be valued.

Not just do it

because you feel

it’s the “life” thing to do.

What I mean about “life” thing:

Meaning just because you see it as tradition.

I was glad

I had a talk with my significant other

and I found out

that he was asking me to marry him

because he felt that’s what people do.

One Movie I Didn’t Get

Blue Caprice (Starring: Isiah Washington and Tequan Richmond (“Drew” from Everybody Hates Chris”))

begins with a mother

abandoning her teen son.

He tries to commit suicide

due to the loneliness and

emotions of being abandoned.

But someone jumps in and saves him.

Great, right?

 This movie

will have you full of questions.

It will make you feel short changed

because it has you on the edge of your seat

one minute

and then drops you with an ending

that will leave you hanging.

You will be like:

What happened to the dad?

Is there a sequel?

After I was left hanging

I decided to do some research.

I found out this was a true story

And if you would like to learn more about this movie

for to allow you to conclude the ending,

  • John Allen Muhammad
  • Lee Boyd Malvo
  • Beltway Sniper Attacks
